Position Summary:

This Project Manager is accountable for the on-time, on-budget delivery of a project to implement a new GIS mobile mapping solution.  The PM is responsible for planning the work, managing a cross-functional team comprised of employees, contractors and vendors at distributed work locations, mitigating issues and risks, and communicating status. The PM is also responsible for forecasting costs, tracking actuals, and explaining variances.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Leads the project planning effort, including the definition of the deliverables and the required delivery dates, creation of a logical work breakdown structure, definition of major project milestones, and accumulation of all project cost and benefit estimates.

Prepares and manages project management reports, timelines, budgets, and documentation. Creates and manages project financials including budgeting, forecasting, actuals tracking and variance analysis.

Identifies risks and issues and provides effective mitigation. Drives project activities and resolves/escalates issues as needed.

Understands business objectives and clearly communicates status and priorities to project stakeholders and team members.

Skill Set Requirements:
 
  • Minimum 10 years of project management experience, with management of a $5M project budget or greater.
  • Proven experience managing large scale software implementations.
  • Proven experience managing requirements specification, design activities, implementation/coding/configuration, testing and final deployment.
  • Proven vendor management experience including RFP process, SOW creation, financial control, and aggressively driving vendor to meet date and budget commitments.
  • Proven experience on a project with a large number of impacted users, (i.e., at least 250 users) and managing the associated change management.
  • Experience in managing project budget forecasts and actuals.
  • Experienced with accrual-based accounting.
  • Experience with Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
  • Utility experience preferred.
  • GIS experience preferred.

This is not a guarantee of compensation, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
